Caries treatment

Periodontitis

Periodontitis is the most perilous complication of caries.

The main reason of periodontitis formation

Periodontitis is the perilous complication of caries, when the nerve destruction and affect the tissues that support and fix the tooth.

The tooth becomes movable and aches with every little touch. Periodontitis involves loss of the alveolar bone around the teeth and if it is left untreated it can cause subsequent loss of teeth. In the case of painless periodontitis it can lead to dental root granuloma, dental cyst, etc. The treatment should be also held in order to prevent organism poisoning with its own destructed tissues. If person has some teeth affected by periodontitis it causes the complications of inside organs: kidney, heart, articulation problems. The tooth is exposed; the canals are processed with special needles, antiseptics and ultrasounds. The treatment is performed in some stages.

Periodontit can be formed as a result of bad teeth canal treatment. Sometimes on pictures can be seen 3 or even more fragments of instruments left in canal. In these cases teeth often have to be extracted if the dentist does not know how to re-treat the canal. The canals should be processed with special needles, antiseptics and ultrasounds. It is long-hour procedure. Tooth “rescuing” is necessary for successful prosthetics.

Periodontitis varieties

Symptoms

Periodontitis can be infectious and non-infectious.

Infection often gets trough the root canal and is the result of gangrene pulpitis and pulp necrosis. Microorganisms and toxins after getting into periodontal tissue can cause perilous inflammation.

Non-infectious Periodontitis

Non-infectious periodontitis forms as a result of:

  1. Traumatic injure:
    • One moment, acute ( stroke, damage after canal filling, periodontal trauma after pulp extraction, biting into hard food, gnawing).
    • Chronicle micro trauma (smoking tube, wind instruments, etc.)
  2. Medicine’s effect:
    • Drastic remedies or arsenic pastes that get to periodontitis when widening root canals and their sterilization.
