Intragastric balloon treatment

Intragastric balloon treatment is indicated to patients with redundant 10-30 kg, or as pre-operation preparation for patients with morbid obesity.

Smooth, round, flat silicon balloon is placed in stomach using gastroscopy and is inflated with syringe through the catheter under surgeon’s control. As the balloon gets 500 ml, catheter is removed and valve is closed and patient can go home in a couple of hours.

The balloon placed in stomach takes the major space in it, so nutrition intake reduces. The balloon irritates satiety receptors and person satisfies with a small amount of food.
